Queen Mary University of London is strengthening its partnership with Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Last week Queen Mary welcomed MAHE’s Vice Chancellor Lt Gen Dr M D Venkatesh and Dr Karunakar Kotegar, Director of International Affairs, at our Institute of Dentistry (IoD) to explore future collaborations in teaching and research as well as new articulation and progression agreements.
Queen Mary has been working with MAHE since 2014, which makes it one of the university’s longest-standing partners in India. Designated an Institute of Eminence by the University Grants Commission, MAHE is a prestigious private institution and has a significant global presence with three additional campuses across India (Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Jamshedpur), and presences in the UAE, Malaysia and the Caribbean.
The newest agreement is a 5+1 progression agreement which was signed by Queen Mary’s Institute of Dentistry and its counterpart, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore (MCODS), in 2021. The partnership across our dentistry schools includes partner summer and short-term programmes.
Dr Maggie Leggett, Head of External Relations at Queen Mary University of London, said:
“It is was an absolute pleasure to welcome our close partners from MAHE to Queen Mary. We are very eager to build on the strong ties we have created over the last 10 years and explore new routes of collaboration, including expanding our current partnership into other disciplinary areas.”
