The Policy Hub is here to support staff and the academic community at Queen Mary to amplify the policy impact of their work.
We work with professional services staff and academics of all disciplines and at all levels to engage with policymakers.
We can provide advice and editorial review for policy documents, i.e. policy briefs, blogs, Select Committee submissions, consultations, etc.
We can review policy impact sections of grant applications and provide advice on routes for policy engagement and evaluating impact.
We offer advice sessions to help you enhance the policy impact of your research or project, from routes to policy engagement to evaluation. Where relevant, we will also connect you to relevant teams across the university.
Leveraging the networks and connections within the Policy Hub and sister teams, including the Mile End Institute, the Centre for Public Engagement, Impact Engagement team, Civic Engagement team, and Public Affairs team, we can help you map potential policy stakeholders and broker introductions to policymakers across local and national policymaking circles.
Our online learning resources are complemented by live training events and bespoke training for graduate programmes, cohorts, teams, School staff, and more.
From connecting policymakers with relevant academic experts and responding to calls for evidence, to longer-term partnerships, we work alongside the Mile End Institute to support the development of evidence-informed policy, and foster engagement with research across the policy landscape.
