Profile

Farah Hussain is a PhD researcher at the School of Politics and International Relations. Her research focus is the experience of Muslim women in the Labour Party. She explores the relationship between the Labour Party and the Muslim electorate in the UK, the societal positioning of Muslim women, and the nature of party membership. She uses intersectionality as her theoretical framework. 
Farah is a a school governor, and a director of a feminist not-for-profit organisation. She has previously worked in Parliament and regional government and served as a Labour Party local councillor in the London Borough of Redbridge.
