Interview with Margaret Thatcher by Des McCartan for the Belfast Telegraph newspaper. In a very in-depth and detailed interview Thatcher answers many questions put to her by McCartan about the Anglo-Irish Agreement. McCartan puts it to Thatcher that many unionists are suspicious of that agreement. She answers questions regarding Northern Ireland’s place in the UK, the US influence on the Northern Ireland situation, the intergovernmental conference, British and Irish government cooperation and much more.
