Video interview with Aidan Corrigan, member of the Dungannon Civil Rights Committee, by Barry Linnane for RTE News in August 1969. In August 1968 the Northern Ireland civil rights movement began public marches in support of its objectives, causing community tensions between Catholics and Protestants in cities such as Derry/Londonderry. An Apprentice Boys march in that city in August 1969 led to increased violence prompting the British government to send army troops to intervene on 14 August. Corrigan discusses the tensions in Northern Ireland. This clip also includes interviews with two unnamed contributors on the subject of housing and policing respectively.
