Audio interview with Austin Currie, co-founder of the SDLP, by Kevin Nowlan for RTE Radio World This Week in February 1972. In June 1968 Austin Currie and others protested against perceived discrimination in housing allocation by ‘squatting’ in a house in Caledon, Dungannon. In August of that year the Northern Ireland Civil Rights movement began public marches in support of its objectives, among them the fair allocation of housing, causing community tensions between Catholics and Protestants.
