Transcript of an interview with Brian Faulkner, former Northern Ireland Minister of Commerce, and published in the Sunday Independent on 26 January 1969. In that same month Faulkner resigned as Minister for Commerce in Terence O'Neill's administration over the potential findings on local government in Northern Ireland by the Cameron Commission. On 26 January itself, meanwhile, William Morgan resigned from Terence O'Neill's administration over the issue of the latter's support for political reform. Twelve members of the Unionist Party also wrote an open letter to O'Neill calling for a change of leadership. Faulkner discusses the growing tensions within the Unionist Party. The Sunday Independent is Ireland’s principal Sunday newspaper.
