Published:

Transcript of an interview with David Trimble, leader of the UUP, by John Humphrys for the BBC television programme, On the Record. Trimble does not believe that there is a realistic prospect that Sinn Féin will make the commitments necessary to join the all-party talks. He argues that the other parties are beginning to realise this. Questioned by Humphrys about Irish government involvement in Northern Ireland, Trimble forcefully argues that Dublin has no right to play a role in a foreign nation’s affairs.
