Transcript of an interview with Gerry Adams, president of Sinn Fein, by John Humphrys for BBC On the Record on 1 October 1995. On 29 September the IRA issued a statement refusing to decommission its arms as a pre-condition to republican participation in future all-party talks. At its annual Ard-Fheis the following day, Sinn Fein reiterated its commitment to the peace process. In this interview Adams discusses the current political impasse. On the Record was BBC's flagship political programme.
