Video interview with Harvey Thomas (former Press and Public Relations Officer for Margaret Thatcher), Jo Berry (daughter of victim of the Brighton bombing) and Patrick Magee (Brighton bomber) by Andy Andrews for Building Bridges for Peace. On 12 October 1984 the Provisional IRA detonated a bomb at the Grand Hotel in Brighton, in advance of the Conservative Party conference, with the intention of assassinating Margaret Thatcher and her cabinet. Five people were killed and thirty-one injured in the explosion but Thatcher survived the blast uninjured. In this interview Thomas, Berry and Magee discuss their experience of the Brighton bombing and their later journey towards reconciliation. Building Bridges for Peace is a charitable organisation established by Jo Berry and Patrick Magee to promote peace and conflict resolution around the world.
