Video interview with James Chichester-Clark, former Northern Ireland Minister of Agriculture, by Kevin MacDonald for RTE News in April 1969. On 23 April the Unionist Party voted to introduce universal adult suffrage at local government elections. Chichester-Clark resigned in protest at this reform. Under pressure Terence O’Neill resigned as leader of the Unionist Party and Prime Minister of Northern Ireland five days later. Chichester-Clark and Brian Faulkner became the leading candidates to replace him. In this interview Chichester-Clark discusses his potential policies as Prime Minister. One day later, 1 May, he became leader of the Unionist Party and Prime Minister of Northern Ireland
