Transcript of an interview with James Molyneaux, leader of the UUP, and Patrick Mayhew, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, on 31 August 1994. On that date the Provisional IRA announced a cessation of military activities from midnight. In this interview Molyneaux and Mayhew discuss the permanency of this ceasefire and the potential for future negotiations with the republican movement. On 13 October the Combined Loyalist Military Command also announced a paramilitary ceasefire.
