Transcript of an interview with James Molyneaux, former leader of the UUP, by Fr. Robbie Low for the Cost of Conscience New Directions journal in January 1996. On 28 November 1995 the British and Irish governments issued a Joint Communiqué. This outlined a twin-track process to advance progress on the issues of decommissioning and all-party negotiations including the establishment of an independent body to advise the British and Irish governments on paramilitary decommissioning and the beginning of all party negotiations by the end of February 1996. Molyneaux discusses his political career to date and the potential for all-party talks. Cost of Conscience is a global association of Anglican priests which explores contemporary issues of faith and politics.
