Video interview with John Hume, Independent Nationalist MP for Foyle, by Barry Linnane for RTE News in April 1969. In January of that year Brian Faulkner and William Morgan resigned from Terence O'Neill's administration over the issue of the latter's support for political reform. Twelve members of the Unionist Party also wrote an open letter to O'Neill calling for a change of leadership. In the subsequent February election O’Neill narrowly retained his seat at Stormont. Under pressure, he resigned as Prime Minister of Northern Ireland in April 1969. Hume discusses the potential impact of O’Neill’s resignation on nationalist unionist relations in Northern Ireland.
