Sinn Féin was excluded from the discussions on the grounds that the Provisional IRA had not declared a new permanent ceasefire. In this interview Major reflects on the developments in the Peace Process in 1996 and discusses the potential for Sinn Féin participation in the Stormont talks in 1997.
