Transcript of an interview with John Major, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, on 20 January 1992. Three days earlier a Provisional IRA landmine killed eight Protestant men and wounded six others at Teebane Crossroads near Omagh, Co. Tyrone. The men had been targeted on account of their working for the British Army at a local military base. Later that evening Peter Brooke, the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, appeared on the Late Late Show in Dublin and gave a rendition of Oh My Darling, Clementine, causing offence within the unionist community. In this interview Major discusses the British government’s policy in Northern Ireland following the Teebane bombing.
