Transcript of an interview with John Major, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, on 24 January 1996. On that date the Mitchell Report was published presenting six principles as a basis for political negotiations in Northern Ireland including that decommissioning should take place simultaneous to all-party talks. In this interview Major discusses the potential for all-party discussions in light of these recommendations. On 9 February, the Provisional IRA ended its ceasefire, detonating a bomb in the London docklands which killed 2 and injured 40.
