Published:

Audio interview with Jonathan Bell, DUP MLA for Strangford, by Stephen Nolan on 20 June 2013 for the Nolan Show on BBC Radio Ulster. Ahead of the annual summer marching season, Assistant Chief Constable of the PSNI Alastair Finlay suggested that it would be a peaceful period in Northern Ireland. Jonathan Bell discusses the importance of maintaining peace and stability during the marching season. A Parades Commission ruling on 9 July stated that an Orange Order parade could not pass through the Ardoyne area of Belfast on its return journey on 12 July, a decision which led to clashes between protesters and the PSNI in north and east Belfast for several days.
