Audio interview with Mark Hennessy, London editor of the Irish Times, and Mike Nesbitt, leader of the UUP, by Wendy Austin for BBC Radio Ulster Talkback on 9 September 2013. Two days earlier Irish Tanaiste and Minister of Foreign Affairs Eamon Gilmore stated that the Irish state needed to acknowledge unionist perceptions that successive Irish governments did not do enough to combat the activity of the IRA during the Troubles. Hennessy and Nesbitt respond to Gilmore’s comments and discuss the wider issues of victims, commemorations and the Haass talks. Talkback is BBC Radio Ulster’s daily afternoon phone-in programme.
