Video interview with Martin Ferris, Sinn Fein Tralee councillor on Kerry County Council, and Jeffrey Donaldson, UUP MP for Lagan Valley, by Steven Smith for ITN on 6 January 2000. Three days earlier Martin Fusco had been arrested by An Garda Síochána with the view to carrying out his extradition to Northern Ireland to serve his sentence at Maze/Long Kesh prison for the killing of an SAS officer in 1980, having previously escaped from Crumlin Road Jail in 1981. Although Sinn Fein initially prevented his return to prison through a court appeal, he was refused bail awaiting the verdict of his extradition case. In this interview Ferris sets out Sinn Fein’s position on the Fusco episode.
