Transcript of an interview with Martin McGuinness, deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, by Dermot Murnaghan for Sky News on 3 July 2011. In late June and early July sporadic violence broke out between members of nationalist and unionist communities in Belfast and other parts of Northern Ireland as the parading season gathered momentum. Over three hundred were injured in the scenes. According to the PSNI the UVF were said to have instigated the riots although dissident republican groups were also engaged in violence. In this interview McGuinness assesses the potential impact of this breakdown in community relations on the stability of the Peace Process. Murnaghan is a Sunday morning current affairs programme on Sky News.
