Transcript of an interview with Mo Mowlam, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, by John Humphrys for the BBC television programme, On the Record. Mowlam states that there will be no agreement reached by Christmas as it was only in August that the IRA renewed their ceasefire and agreed to abide by the Mitchell Principles. The following month Sinn Féin entered negotiations. Mowlam confirms that Sinn Féin and the Ulster Unionist Party do not currently meet face to face. She discusses with Humphrys the prospect of any settlement being reached.
