Following the yes vote in the referendum on the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement elections to the Northern Ireland Assembly have given rise to what appears to be a fragile pro- Agreement majority. Mowlam admits that she would have preferred to see more pro-Agreement politicians elected. She states that decommissioning is central to the success of the Agreement. Humphrys questions her on the potential for destabilisaton and violence as marching season approaches.
