Audio interview with Owen Paterson, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, by Canon Ian Ellis for The Church of Ireland Gazette on 25 August 2010. The Saville Report, published on 15 June 2010, established that those killed and injured in Derry/Londonderry on Bloody Sunday were innocent victims of British army violence on that day. These conclusions rejected those of the earlier Widgery Report and prompted British Prime Minister David Cameron to issue a public apology for the events of Bloody Sunday. In this interview Paterson discusses the potential impact of these findings on the Peace Process in Northern Ireland. The Church of Ireland Gazette is a monthly journal published by the Church of Ireland Press which addresses religious and political issues.
