Video interview with Peter Mandelson, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, for ITN on 4 July 2000. Earlier the Parades Commission had ruled that an Orange Order parade could not return from Drumcree to Portadown via the mainly nationalist Garvaghy Road. On 2 and 3 July rioting broke out between loyalist protesters and the security forces over the issue while several cars were hijacked and torched in Belfast. Mandelson discusses the outbreaks of violence.
