Transcript of an interview with Seamus Mallon, deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, by David Frost for BBC Breakfast with Frost on 5 November 2000. One week earlier David Trimble effectively placed a ban on Sinn Fein attending North-South ministerial meetings in an attempt to accelerate IRA decommissioning. Mallon discusses the impact of the ban and the limited progress on decommissioning on the stability of power-sharing government in Northern Ireland. On 30 January 2001 a Belfast High Court ruled that the imposition of a ban was illegal. Breakfast with Frost was a weekly BBC current affairs programme.
