Audio interviews with David Trimble(former First Minister of Northern Ireland), Paul Bew(Professor of Politics at Queen's University Belfast)and Martin McGuinness (former Northern Ireland Minister of Education) by Nicholas Watt for the Guardian in March 2007. The interviewees offer candid views on Peter Mandelson’s role as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland between 1999 and 2001. Mandelson had criticised what he believed to be Tony Blair’s overly conciliatory approach to Sinn Féin. These interviews were included in a three day series examining Tony Blair’s involvement in the Northern Ireland Peace Process, three months before his resignation as British Prime Minister.
