Video interviews with Joe Hendron, former SDLP MP for Belfast West, and Gearoid O’Caireallain, journalist, for ITN on 10 April 1992. In the general election held in Northern Ireland that month the SDLP candidate Joe Hendron defeated Sinn Fein’s Gerry Adams to become MP for Belfast West. At the announcement of the election results Hendron sets out his political vision to his constituents while O’Caireallain discusses the potential impact of young republican activists turning their focus to increased violence. Later that night the IRA detonated a bomb at the Baltic Exchange in London killing three and injuring ninety-one others.
