Video interviews with Paul Bew (Lecturer of Politics at Queen’s University, Belfast), Chris Ryder (journalist and broadcaster) and Ian Paisley (leader of the DUP) for ITN on 2 September 1988. Between 11 January and 30 August John Hume and Gerry Adams held a series of discussions about advancing the peace process but these failed to produce agreement on an IRA ceasefire. Bew, Ryder and Paisley discuss the apparent end of the Hume-Adams talks and future multi-party discussion in Northern Ireland.
