INCORE is a joint project of the United Nations University and the University of Ulster. Combining research, education and comparative analysis, the Institute addresses the causes and consequences of conflict in Northern Ireland and internationally and promotes conflict resolution strategies. It aims to influence policymakers and practitioners involved in peace, conflict and reconciliation issues whilst enhancing the nature of international conflict. Research includes projects on: Dealing with the Past; Intergroup relations; Managing Transition; Peacebuilding Practice; and Reconciliation. Of particular importance to research on the peace process are the Journeys Out Project, Politics of Reconciliation, Coming out of Violence project, and the Guide to Peacebuilding in Northern Ireland. The Institute also specialises in comparative conflict research through the Inter-Institute Peace and Conflict Cluster (IPAC). Publication is a main output of the Institute. Publications include academic publications, research papers, research summaries, conference papers, occasional papers and working papers, most of which are available to download.
