France 24
Dr Rainbow Murray was on France 24 last night, discussing the newly formed French government. For the first time in French history it is a parity government, with 9 women out of 18 in the cabinet and 17/34 women overall. However, nearly all the top jobs went to men, and the two most senior women - Martine Aubry and Ségolène Royal - went empty handed. Royal might become Speaker of the new parliament, but Aubry, disappointed not to be nominated Prime Minister, left with nothing.
