Dr Patrick Diamond, Does everybody need a winter fuel allowance?

20 November 2015 As temperatures dropped, BBC Radio Surrey asked if everybody needs the government winter fuel allowance and highlighted a scheme that re-allocates the funding to those who need it. Dr Patrick Diamond, who was interviewed in the feature, said: “There are lots of people who don’t fall into the pensioner category who have a lot of difficulty funding their winter fuel payments because of the cost of fuel and energy in this country and the government therefore, I think, needs to be more creative in how it can help those people particularly during those cold winter months.” The segment starts at 02:07:00.
