A survey of 20 sitting MPs and candidates for the committee on standards in public life, found some 71 per cent of Tory candidates at this year’s general election said they had experienced harassment, compared with 38 per cent of Labour candidates. Professor Tim Bale, told the committee: “Since Jeremy Corbyn took over Labour there has been an influx of people who are rather more used to a kind of factionalised and vituperative culture of politics… Making people feel very uncomfortable…is a deliberate tactic.”More »
