The Conservatives have one shot at preventing the re-election of London’s Labour mayor Sadiq Khan and they appear to be pinning their chances on former youth worker and one-time prime ministerial adviser Shaun Bailey. Tim Bale, Politics Professor at Queen Mary said: “You can probably judge the party’s assessment of its chances by the profile of the candidates who’ve put themselves up for selection.
