British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has decided to prorogue Parliament, suspending his legislative activities until 14 October, two weeks before the date of Brexit. This suspension is out of the ordinary, if only because of its duration. "In general, it's between a week and three weeks maximum, while the extension proposed by Boris Johnson spans nearly five weeks," says Daniel Gover, a Political Scientist at Queen Mary University of London. This suspension leaves just over three weeks for deputies to try to avoid the risk of a no-deal Brexit. “They have very little time left, but it's not impossible," says Daniel Gover.Find out more
