Professor Tim Bale was interviewed by talkRADIO about Boris Johnson’s recent meetings with the leaders of Germany and France. Professor Bale said: “In some ways this is a bit of political theatre on the part of everybody involved. This isn’t necessarily about groping towards the reality of a deal. This is more about who will get the blame if there is no deal. I think what Boris Johnson may have hoped is that he would get a frosty reception from both leaders and therefore be able to say he tried.
