Dr Lee Jones discussed the no confidence vote on Russia Today. On whether Brussels will be forthcoming with any concessions to Theresa May’s plan B, Dr Jones said: “The best the EU is going to offer at this stage is some cosmetic tweaks to the political declaration. She went to them before Christmas and what did they come back with? Just a slight clarification statement saying that the backstop is intended to be temporary and it was a very minimal concession. The EU has got the deal that it wants and as far as the EU is concerned that’s the deal that’s on the table.”
