In the recent months we have been documenting the trials and tribulations of those leading nations through Covid-19. A certain group of leaders, Germany's Angela Merkel, New Zealand's Jacinda Ardern and Taiwan's Tsai Ing-wen have shone. Naturally this has led to many noticing that women-led countries are a lot better at dealing with a global pandemic. Professor Sophie Harman, Professor of International Politics at Queen Mary, comments: "Whilst these examples are great and show women can be effective leaders, we need to be a little bit careful about this. Firstly, it's only a handful of women we're using as examples and secondly we're still at the beginning stages of Covid-19, and the pandemic, so I think it is too soon to tell."
