Professor Patrick Diamond, Reader in Public Policy and Director of the Mile End Institute at Queen Mary, was featured on BBC's Briefing Room on Sue Gray's recent report into Downing Street's parties during lockdown. He said: "I think the way in which the Prime Minister's is talking about the role of the permanent secretary would play would be an innovation, in the sense that it's an acceptance that there needs to be more formal accountability and oversight of how the Prime Minister's operation is working at 10 Downing Street."
