If the Tories lose the next election, Boris Johnson won’t be the man they turn to

Published:

Tim Bale, Professor of Politics at Queen Mary University of London, has written for The Observer on modelling he has co-conducted on a Conservative loss at the general election. He writes: "There is no evidence that a post-defeat parliamentary Conservative party would turn again to Boris Johnson. In any case, unless he finds himself a safer seat fairly soon, Johnson’s relatively small majority means he might not be there to take up the reins again anyway.”
