Newly founded in the academic year 2024-25, the group is devoted to exploring contemporary issues around nature and significance of both pedagogy and scholarship. It provides a forum for the development of a community of practice open to all teaching staff in the School of Politics and International Relations.
Our group’s activities are led by our members’ interests and concerns. Both pedagogy and scholarship are essentially contested concepts. Communities of practice take shape around conflicting interpretations of the common practice of their members and around disagreements about the standards by which their practice is judged.
The group is convened by Diego de Merich and Nick Hostettler.
