Finding the right place to live is important - especially if you are moving away from home for the first time.
Aspire Point is home to 445 Queen Mary postgraduate students. This development in Stratford will provide affordable living and study space in an iconic student residence with stunning views over London and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Aspire Point is a short (20 minute) bus journey away from our Mile End campus.
We also offer postgraduate accommodation in Stepney Green with our partner provider, Unite Students, less than 10 minutes’ walk from our main campus in Mile End and a short journey to the popular areas of Brick Lane and Shoreditch.
Set alongside the picturesque Regent’s Canal, our campus offers facilities, including the Library, lecture halls, shops, cafes, the launderette and the gym. With everything in such close proximity, our students are able to enjoy the ease that comes with campus life.
The campus environment makes for a strong and close-knit community. There is always someone around to help, chat to or just point you in the right direction.
We also offer accommodation for our Medicine and Dentistry students at our Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square campuses. This means you can live with people on a similar course, close to our clinical facilities.
Please refer to the Residences website for details of all Housing options and how to apply.
For students not living on campus, our Housing Services team can help you find suitable alternative housing options in the local area, which are plentiful. This includes student house and flat shares, private student accommodation and homestay opportunities.
The team will provide you with lots of support and guidance to help ease your transition into university life. They can also put you in touch with other students seeking off-campus accommodation.
Commuters won’t find themselves alone at Queen Mary; many of our students choose to commute to campus from Greater London and just outside London. We even have a Commuters' Society, so you can get to know other people who are living at home and find a commuting buddy.
As a commuter to Queen Mary, I haven’t found the experience to be any different than it would’ve been if I’d lived on campus. I still made friends really quickly in Welcome Week, I’m involved in lots of societies and I’m active in the Students’ Union. I’ve enjoyed being a commuter. Joe Vinson, Law LLB 2019
