Eliza joined qLegal in January 2020 after ten years as a Clinical Law Professor with the University of Texas School of Law’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Texas, Eliza completed an LLM and Clinical Law Fellowship at Georgetown University Law Center teaching in the Affordable Housing and Community Development Clinic. Eliza also spent five years litigating cases as a civil rights attorney representing clients in the Washington, D.C. area. Along with her qLegal colleagues, Eliza focuses her work at qLegal on preparing and delivering teaching materials for students and reviewing advice letters and public legal education materials. She is passionate about helping law students translate their academic knowledge of substantive law into practical, client-centred advice for clients and the general public. She believes in Clinical Legal Education for its twin goals of helping students become great lawyers and providing high quality legal services to clients who cannot afford to pay for legal services.
