Summary of research:

The research focuses on the legal challenges surrounding the training of generative AI models on copyrighted materials. It explores how this technology functions and its interaction with copyright law. A key issue is the lack of clear and well-defined regulations, which presents multiple challenges. Those include the potential to slow the advancement of AI technologies and hinder rightsholders in effectively protecting and being compensated for the use of their copyrighted works.. The research aims to propose effective solutions to address this issue, balancing the interests of all stakeholders involved.
