Progress and Assessment Practices for Degree Apprenticeship Programmes

Every apprenticeship standard also has an end-point assessment plan which sets out how the apprentice will be assessed.

All teaching and learning activities, both in the classroom and in the workplace, should be co-ordinated to achieve the learning outcomes and prepare apprentices for the End Point Assessment (EPA). Your assessment strategy should ensure that apprentices evidence achievement of the KSBs and the impact of their learning.

In a degree apprenticeship, assessments should be work-based and reflect workplace practices. Working with employers will support the development of authentic assessment activities that are of benefit in the workplace, contributing to the development and enhancement of practice, as well as evidencing the achievement of the KSBs and gaining academic credit for the apprentice.
