We will be running an appreciation campaign all week. Messages will be published online on our Twitter/X and Instagram feeds, alongside the LCD Display network across all campuses.

A New Welcome Event (Tues 17 Sept)

This half-day events is for all postdocs, fellows and early-career researchers (lecturers and senior lecturers), but we especially encourage those who have recently joined Queen Mary to attend these event.

Come and meet other Queen Mary researchers as well as members of Queen Mary Professional Services teams who are here to support your research efforts and your career and professional development.

10 Days to Change the World (Wed 18 Sept)

ONLINE COURSE - 18 Sept 2024 - 10:30 AM

As RD Concordat signatories, we recommend that you engage is a minimum of 10-days (70-hours) of annual Continued Professional Development (CPD) Activity per year!

Dr Emma (the Nerd Coach) Williams, co-author of "What Every Postdoc Should Know", runs this interactive session where you will dive into:

  • Why your 10 days CPD is so important
  • Look at creative ways to spend them (and fund them)
  • Discover if you have hit "peak postdoc"
  • Find out about the only metric that matters for postdocs

Postdoc Comedy Night (Fri 20 Sept)

17:30 - The Neuron Pod (Whitechapel)

Come join us for a evening of comedy, as some of your postdocs take to the stage and tell us about their research or thier postdoc lives, hilariously! This presentations course pushes postdocs out of their comfort zones, and helps develop confidence, and prepare you for presenting to almost any group!

Last year's comedy show sold out in less than 10 minutes!!
