I was a PASS Mentor and my goal was to help first-year students integrate smoothly into the bustling world of university. I did this by leading and facilitating 1-hour academic support sessions every week, and, within each week, I addressed a topic that was tailored to students’ feedback and needs. During each session, I made mentees feel welcome and safe to express their questions and opinions and collaborated with them to creating various study resources. The effectiveness of PASS is supported by promising results of a general evaluation survey and my personal contributions are exemplified by my achievement of the PASS Mentor of the Year Award for the SBBS faculty.
