I was one of the students involved in a couple of Students As Partners (SAP) schemes for the Queen Mary Institute of Dentistry (IoD). One of these was a SAP working group to co-create and deliver exam preparation sessions to BDS3 and BScOH2 students. I was the only BScOH student who participated to ensure that, as a minority, we were represented. This group involved working with students and staff to co-create and deliver suitable curriculum material to help BDS and BScOH students prepare for their Structured Clinical Reasoning (SCR) exams. Having an individual represent a minority makes the minority feel heard, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
