I was one of the students selected to act as a peer leader for students studying the CHE102B Organic Chemistry module. I was responsible to plan learning activities, lead and facilitate fortnightly 90-minute organic chemistry sessions to help explain evolving ideas in a small-group student science setting. Through the Peer-led team learning (PLTL) programme, I was able to assist students verbalise and articulate the concepts taught in lectures in a new dynamic way. I did this by playing a crucial role in developing an effective learning environment by motivating students and helping them improve on their problem-solving exam technique, to help prepare students for their final exams. All this ultimately enhanced student grades, enabled me to enforce positive change through enhancing student learning communities and student engagement.
