During my second year of BSc Medical Genetics, I was a peer leader for the BIO161 Basic Biochemistry module as part of the Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) program. I facilitated collaborative problem-solving sessions for first-year students. This helped them enhance their understanding of biochemistry while fostering key teamwork and communication skills. Notably, I supported a student with autism by adjusting to suit their individual needs. Through PLTL, I assisted in the improvement of student academic and social engagement. I also contributed to QMUL’s commitment to inclusivity and collaborative learning. This brought neurotypical and neurodiverse students together showcasing everyone's strengths.
